History

Brothers David and Matthew Lloyd are third generational McLaren Vale vignerons, with strong links with the local community.

After many years of owning and developing vineyards in the Adelaide Hills and nearby Kangarilla, it was the opportunity to purchase a 70 acre Olive Grove, in the highly sort after Seaview sub-region of McLaren Vale, that brought their shared vision to a reality.

The brothers considered this property to offer some of the finest terrior in the district and provided the ideal home to create their own boutique, hand craftered range of wines.

It was by good fortune that after deciding to crush the olives grown from the older trees on the Estate into oil, that they were able to fully understand and appreciate what these historic olive trees were able to offer.

It was therefore decided that they would incorporate olives into their vision and in July 1998 the Lloyd Brothers Wine and Olive Company was born.

Initially focusing on the popular McLaren Vale varieties - Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre as well as the Estates Table Olives and EVOO, they purchased a cool climate vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, providing fruit for their Pinot Noir Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Picpoul and awarding winning cool climate Shiraz.

The Lloyd Brothers continue today to share their vision with visitors, creating a range of premium, hand crafted, Estate produce where quality is paramount.
